For the campaign, I focused on four major themes and narratives surrounding the Greenbelt: Agriculture, Biodiversity, Watersheds and Urban Sprawl. Along with creating short video (above), my images were used with call to actions on social media and for the Ontario Nature website. I also wrote a short piece on protecting the watersheds of Wellington County for Ontario Nature’s blog – available here.
As communication’s intern for Ontario Nature during the summer of 2016, I worked on creating stories and visual content for their Greenbelt campaign. At the time, the Ontario government was reviewing four major land use plans governing the Greenbelt and there were concerns of loosening regulations. Ontario Nature campaigned the province to strengthen to the Ontario Greenbelt Act, collecting letters and petitions from the public. By the end of the summer, the campaign ultimately collected over 5000 signatures.
